Recommended books

Pumping Insulin by John Walsh.  John Walsh is the American equivalent of a Diabetes Nurse Consultant, who has Type 1 diabetes and uses a pump himself.  Many pump users regard this book (first issued in 2000 and updated several times since) as the “pump user’s bible”.

Think Like A Pancreas by Gary Scheiner.  Gary Scheiner is also the American equivalent of a Diabetes Nurse Consultant, also has Type 1 diabetes and also uses a pump himself.  This book looks at all aspects of good control, including injecting, pumping, continuous glucose monitoring and avoiding burnout.

Both of these books are available from Amazon.co.uk and other bookshops.
